Since the end of 2008, the reformatted Mere Mortals have continued to spread their esound across the cosmos, thanks to a busy schedule of touring and recording. The Band has recently competed a 2 week tour of Japan and on these shores shared the stage with Black Francis, BRMC, A Place To Bury Strangers, West Indian Girl, Spindrift and The Warlocks. Additionally, Mere Mortals were tapped to play at Joshua Tree’s ‘Clean Air Clean Stars’ and Las Vegas’ ‘Neon Reverb’ festivals.

Continuous touring aside, the band has regularly received rave reviews from the likes of LA Times, LA Record, Las Vegas Weekly, Las Vegas Citylife, LAist.com, LA Underground, The Onion and NME, who donned them, “…the best unsigned band.” Former Sex Pistol, Steve Jones, also championed the band on his INDIE 103.1 show and went on to say “Get your checkbooks out, record labels, and give this mob a deal… you’re so slow, some of you!”

Well, someone did notice. Early 2009 saw the band land a deal with the Japanese label, Zeami Stars, who just released (November 4th) a re-packaged ‘Rebel Radio’, the 2007 EP that will now boast 3 new tracks. ‘Rebel Radio’ was Mere Mortals breakout EP that garnered the band over 15 song placements in TV (network and cable).
