Amnion is a medical term for the inner-womb in a female human being or animal. This makes Amnion a likely candidate for worst-band-names-of-2008 lists on the grounds that medical terms are off-limits. Then again, their MySpace page bills their genres as “pop/emo/other” and the headline reads, “pop/emo/other=Pope Mother”. Their debut album “AmenNamO”, and website www.WEAREEACHOTHER.com is riddled with dedications and thank-you notes to “all LOVE” their Mothers, so, at least their name has a continuity with their intents. And, like most Mothers, they seem to care about seeing their children grow into healthy, well-adjusted adults. Healthy, well-adjusted adults with a strong sense of Melody, a diverse vocabulary of Dance moves, an appreciation for positive, well-written Lyrics, and a hunger for some damn good Songs. If you miss this chance to see them, count on your friends to drag you to the next one. Their Music is like a Tree growing in that one special place – you know where she is, but the next time you visit, she’s gotten a LOT BIGGER!
